Family Activity Days

I have designed and executed 'hands-on' historical educational activities with a range of activities (and background information) to suit most abilities, and designed to appeal to all age groups. Family activity days can be based around timetabled sessions or free-flowing throughout the day. e.g.

Tudor Medicine and Tudor Food sessions at the Museum of London, Docklands Museum and Cambridge Folk Museum - timetabled sessions.

Medieval painting sessions at Colchester Castle and at Cambridge Folk Museum - timetabled sessions.

Medieval textiles, medieval food, medieval medicine and medieval art for English Heritage (Stokesay Castle) - continued free flowing activities throughout the day.

Medieval life for the National Trust (Greyfriars, Worcester and The Weir, Herefordshire) - continued activities throughout the day.

Roman textiles at Bristol City Museum

Tudor Medicine at the Museum of London.

A series of four different Tudor Days for the National Trust at Knole (Tudor food, art, medicine and textiles). I have also designed activities to be led by volunteers at this site, from making soap balls or Tudor-style purses, to whattle and daub!

I am developing family and adult sessions on Georgian crafts and medicine with the National Trust, with the intention of developing some Georgian schools sessions in the near future.

I am also currently developing workshop sessions for the British Museum on the work of the Elizabethan traveller and artist, John White.
